Hey guys. In my earlier post I talked about how you can play fast at the same tempo...which many knew. Now it is indeed a common misconception that whole notes are far more easier to play than quarter notes. Frankly speaking, to musicians who have been practicing for over six months..or one year (to be safe) it will make no difference to them, because they are used to it. However, for beginners, it will make a difference. For people who are just entering the world of music, understanding rythm, beats, tempo, takes a while and counts (specially) is a major obstacle for some. If a person is taught how to use a hammer, he may hurt himself once or twice, but once he gets used to it, he hardly makes a mistake. The same way, any worker will get used to what he is doing after a while. Just like these two examples, if you tell a person to play a particular note at equal intervals, and you help him start off, he may go off beat once or twice, but then in just 5 minutes he can continuous...

Now before I start, I want to tell you a few things. This is just a small and basic topic I am covering up tonight, so most of you readers who are into music will understand this just by the title. However, there are always exceptions, and by reading this the exceptions wouldn't be exceptions anymore. P.S. if you don't understand this post, read it again slowly. You might have to read up a little more on this because I am explaining in brief, but let's say you have a tempo of 32bpm. Now you can play whole notes, which means in four counts you can play only once in four counts. People find this to be the easiest.  Then there is a quarter note, where you can play four notes in four counts. People find this super easy, easier than the whole notes. This is something I am currently working on, and I have almost completed it. Setting up a home studio is a tough job for some and a piece of cake for others, due to their studio structure. Anyways, to set up a home studio for recording, here are the main steps that I followed: 1) Find some acoustic:  Your studio is going to be in your house in a particular room, so choose a room which has good acoustics. To know more about acoustics of a room,  click here . 2) Lighting:  You need to record it, and if you are video recording it, then set up the lighting in the way you want. If you aren't video recording or if you are just voice recording, then keep it the way you feel comfortable. 3) Camera:  This is only if you are recording a video of yourself sing. Purchase a good camera, with good display, and make sure you find a spot which does not disturb the acoustics of your room. 4) Mics:  This is very very important guys. Heylo! I am so sorry for not posting for a while. However, now I am thinking of doing so, based on your choice. Do you know what the circle of fifths is? Well, if not, I will explain it to you. It is too long, however, to be explained properly in one blogpost. So what I was thinking was that if you really want me to explain what the circle of fifths in music is, I will, and maybe it will have to be through videos, but I will. The circle of fifths in music is applicable to all instruments and it helps in understanding how to find out the scales. In the circle, we will be playing around with majors, sharps, flats, etc. to understand how they all are related. Heylo people. This is my new style of saying "hello" and "yo" at the same time, for those of you who do not know. Okay, so its time to roll.  Have you ever thought, that your exercise can effect the way you play your guitar? I bet not. So it actually does affect your picking speed and things like that, for all you fast pickers out there.  Theory: Okay, so there is one thing you need to understand. Your wrists are sensitive, or rather lets say weak in a way. So if you do certain exercises, which I will be mentioning in a minute, your wrists will become stiff, or will pain. With a stiff wrist, you really cannot pick that fast, let me tell you that. So ifw you try to pick with a stiff wrist, it will not be fluent. Yes, it loosens up after some time, but doing such workouts every day may affect your guitar playing a lot.
