A few tips on making good songs

I have already discussed the topic of song-making before, but now I have come up with certain things that the audience would expect of a song. This is essential to know because once you know this, you can probably rock the stage.

Activity: Knowing what your audience will want is necessary to know. Before reading further, close your eyes and imagine you are a totally different person who is coming for your show tonight. Think of what kind of music you will expect. Keep your mind open to thoughts or else you will only expect what you want. Note down these points you will expect in this concert. This kind of a thing helps in organization of the stage, and a lot of other things also.

In business studies, they say under communication skills that knowing your audience is essential. If they expect a waltz and you start doing salsa, they will probably throw pianos at you.

1) Good to hear: The audience will not want some noise from you. They will expect you to play something soothing, or something they like.

2) Play their expectations: If it's a rock concert, you can't play jazz. If you're solo and you need to improvise, those who are at spiritually high levels can play in sync with the auras of the majority.

3) Hide, but don't let them seek: If you make mistakes, don't stop or panic or make any silly expression. Don't even give a hint that you made a mistake. Synchronize with the beats and carry on. Your method of hiding mistakes should be so effective that even musicians should miss it.

4) Sync with Scale: The audience you will be performing in front of wants you to sing and play in the same key. Don't go off to another key in either or your money will go on permanent vacation.

5) stay tuned: If you're a drummer or pianist, stay in sync with the lead players. Don't go off sync or else you will ruin the whole performance.

These are a few minor points I could think of. This was not in detail as I was talking in a wider sense, and I did not bring it in detail with one particular instrument or anything like that. If I missed any point in this wide sense, and you feel I should have stated that, please let me know through the comments (no registration required, and anonymous comments are allowed). So please let me know what you feel, thanks.
