How to know when to change your guitar strings

Normally it so happens that people who have their guitar for years have a fixed time (say 6 months) after which they will change their strings. But suppose you bought a new guitar and the strings for the guitar are from a different brand and, everything is different. So here are a few things you will need to think about:

1)Check the rust: You must have noticed that new strings do not make as much of a sound when your hand slides on the fret-board, while in the rusted ones, they make a lot of noise. This is one step. So what you want to do is slide your hand on the neck touching the strings gently. If they make too much noise, you know its time to change them, soon.

2)Ouch: Here is a fact- your fingers will hurt more when you play on rusted strings compared to new strings. So what you have to do is start playing on the guitar, and if your hands feel pain after say about 5 minutes, you definitely need to change your strings.

3)Clarity: Clean strings are way more clear in sound than rusted strings. So if you find less clarity and you have to hold your chords harder for them to sound clear, you will have to change your strings.

Guys, these are 3 essential tips for knowing how to change your guitar strings. So if you know these tips, you can know when to change your guitar strings. Also, note the approximate time after which your strings rust, that is if  you continue buying the same strings. It is also good to change your guitar strings 4 hours before a performance. Thank-you for reading. So stay smart, aware and rock!!!!
