Success, and How To Improve With It

Bonjour! This world includes all types of people, and it includes, but is not limited to successful people, egoistic people, heartbroken people, people who believe they have no future, and the list goes on. Success has many definitions, and it means a lot of things to a lot of people, and it exists in every field, every game, every single activity that exists in this world. Everyone wants to be successful, and everyone has a different idea of success...the best part is, you can achieve it!

A lot of people set the bar of success so high, and they try to reach that bar in one go, and they take a fall and consider themselves failures. Little do they know, that's not how one should go about it. When someone's a baby, they learn to stand before they learn to walk, and they learn to walk before they learn to run. This is the easiest way to achieve your goals.

This method is important, because to reach the ultimate success, one needs to have some kind of self motivation, and feeling bad till you finally reach your ultimate goal isn't going to cut it.

The correct way to go about it is, start with smaller goals, and keep progressing to bigger ones. That way, every time you reach one goal, you feel good, and grow hungrier for more success. This motivates you to reach your higher benchmark...and higher...and higher, until you finally reach your ultimate goal. It doesn't stop there though, because once you taste success, you want more.

For musicians, here is the ultimate goal (usually):

1. Starting a band
2. Making beautiful music
3. Getting popularity for the music (today, even looks matter...yeah, we're a doomed generation)

Thus, in terms of music, here's a sample of how goals should be:

1. Find friends, people who are interested in the same music as you.
2. Talk about forming a band...look at all possibilities and discuss how to go about it.
3. First official meeting of Band.
4. Making your first album
5. Recording your first album.
6. Promoting your album.

These were just a few examples, may not represent the actual way you're going to go about it.

In this, you will notice that every goal is like a milestone. The logic behind this is, every time you complete one of these objectives, you'll get a feeling of confidence, a small taste of success, and it makes you believe in yourself.

Let's look at it in another way.
If your objectives looked like this:

1. Form a band and become popular.

What do you think would be the outcome?
The most probable thing that would happen is that you would quit trying to become popular halfway. Forming a band is easier than getting popular, so maybe, just maybe, you'll get a little satisfaction after you form a band.

Becoming popular would be another part of the story. This, however, may take longer. The problem that usually occurs is you have tasted success when you formed a band, but no matter how hard you try, popularity takes time, and it's not easy to try for success and not achieve it.
Thus, people often lose the will to try, because their efforts bring no results.

This makes most people quit.

Are you a quitter? Do you want to be one?

If you aren't, and you don't want to be one, then keep your goals small for the time being, complete each task as it comes, and that will keep you going.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For those who didn't understand the above, here is a simpler explanation. For those who understood the above, the blogpost ends for you.

Imagine yourself in a sports car of your choice. It's really fast, and really good. However, no car works without fuel. Nonetheless, You want your car to have premium sports fuel, which you get at a station 5 miles away.

The problem is, your car currently has fuel for one mile only, and at every mile there's a fuel station.

If you try to cover a distance of 5 miles with fuel for one mile, what would happen? Your car would stop operating after one mile, because all the fuel is consumed.

Thus, your beloved car, no matter how fast or powerful it is, will cease to operate after one mile.

However, if you enter the fuel station after one mile and refill your fuel for another one mile, and do so every mile, soon you'll complete your five mile goal, and will be able to fill your almost empty tank with the sports fuel you desire.

The point here being, you need to keep your objectives achievable, precise and clear. You'll easily be able to cover five miles if you fill your car with satisfactory fuel after every one mile.

Here, the fuel is your success, and the car is your determination. No matter how much speed and power (determination) your car (you) may have, it's important to give your car satisfactory amount of fuel (taste of success) after every one mile (small objective).

Thank you for taking out the time to read this post. Have a nice day.
